the past week

wooh! really enjoyed the air of freedom since handing over the project last monday. indulged in some things that i've not been able to do - spending time with myself (yes.... myself), time with mom, re-organising all the stuff on my comp (read: purging my comp of ALL FYP stuff), continued with my title campaign in Football Manager, preparing for cell group christmas party outreach and of course, A Kepala. more of these later.

Josh McDowell: Bold Truth
Attended the meeting last tuesday at St John St Margaret's church where Josh McDowell gave his second talk about the authencity of Christ, and why we can be sure of his divinity. it was my first time hearing the man himself speak, but i enjoyed every moment of his message, from time to time noting the way he communicates to bring across his words. impressive!

Cell Group Christmas Party
the cg christmas party was held on saturday night as part of the objective to reach out to pre-believers. a total of 8 guests attended, all colleagues of mi-mei's. the overall evangelistic approach wasn't direct cos we had to be sensitive to the feelings of the guests even as we seek to bring across the christmas message. in the end, i could feel that they could really click with us.... which is an excellent starting point for future follow-ups. thoroughly enjoyed the party. towards the end when the guests have all left, the cg sat around and chatted. i must say that i've been rather impressed by the way some of the members take the effort to be transparent and share their lives with one another.

A Kepala: first gig at CCiS
our group performed at the paragon - the first public performance for us after weeks of practice and rehearsals. there were some very good groups performing at the same venue, and i was personally inspired by the acapella group that came on before us. our performance went ok, despite a few glitches here and there.... for most times when i was playing, i strained to hear myself, and it did affect me somewhat.... got some obvious wrong notes. but anyway it was a great learning experience for me performing at a very public setting such as Orchard Rd.... the dynamics are certainly different compared to playing to an audience in an enclosed room. went for dinner after our show, followed by some drinks at the 24hr mac outside Lido where sindric, manson, daniel and myself chatted til almost 2am.

Some thoughts...
somehow during this A Kepala season..... circumstances have somewhat conspired to result in me being late for almost every pract or meeting session. i can't believe how i could have failed to be punctual....and even for the first gig today, though i wasn't late, i still was the last to arrive...and i still remember that dreaded guilt. i'm not trying here to make excuses for myself or push the blame on other factors. i know i could have done better despite the various reasons i have. til now, i've always prided myself on being able to keep to schedule and being punctual for meetings or events...... in fact, some of my pet peeves are directed against sloppiness. yet even now as i reflect upon myself, i see the very image that i so detest. in brutal honesty, i think i've scored a miserable F in the ethics and attitude of a servant. what a major humble pie.... if this is the best i can offer to God in my worship to Him.... then i've been no different from the priests who offered blemished sacrifices in the book of Malachi.

still, i'm trying not to allow this to affect me too much...gotta learn from the lessons of this episode and move on.

ok that's all the updates for now...logging off...

What next?
