Communication 101

just one rant for today...

It's a mystery to me how certain people in the world can be such lovers of details. I can never live with (too much) details, and information that gets too dense simply kills me. Eg If A leads to B, and B leads to C, I can by logic know that A will lead to C via B. However, this isn't so for one who's a sucker for details. You need to spell that out.

while it is not wrong to clarify things where doubt exists, there is also the inherent danger of being ridiculously info-driven - i.e. you need to know every minute detail and every little thing needs to be spelled out, and in short you need to be over-communicated.

An analogy of how I see it. It's like telling the other that you need to go to the washroom, and he/she needs to know if you're getting there by foot or by transport, whether you're wearing slippers or shoes, and if shoes, what socks are you wearing, what color, is it made of wool or cotton etc etc etc and the questions go on....and man all these while all you wanna do is just get to your destination! sheesh...

yes... communication IS painful.

What next?
