Random thoughts, rants and reflections

wanted to attend dawn prayers this morning... but at 5am sindric messaged to say he can't make it, so i thought i might as well catch some more sleep before going for personal retreat.

the personal retreat is something that i've been wanting to do for some time now, but til today, i haven't really got the opportunity and time. so when it happened that today was sort of a 'free' day for me, i grabbed the chance with both hands.

armed with my jacket, hammock, books, some food, and my trusty O2 xda2 (bought recently from a fren), i set off for sentosa around late morning. reaching there, i found the spot that i used during my last retreat (which was more than a year back), but to my dismay i couldn't set up my hammock cos the sky was already threatening to rain. i had to 'evict' myself from one spot to another for the whole afternoon before settling down somewhere in tanjong beach. despite the afternoon not going exactly to plan, i'm thankful for the chance to reflect upon myself, to slow down and think thru my goals for this year. managed to also resume my half-read Sacred Romance by John Eldredge. more importantly, i could find the space to commune with God... and what has touched me today is about sanctifying and consecrating myself for the service of God. i realise that this 'waiting time' before i finally join Forerunner is really God's season for moulding me so i can be fit for His service. what a fool i had been to be so impatient and even resentful about not being able to 'start work' asap, i have missed God's picture of things. so indeed according to God's word, there is a time and season for everything...

after the retreat, i met up with the bangs for dinner at city hall... i kindof like the way we are starting to bond and relate to one another. i'm excited too, about the possibility of sindric, our new-found bang, joining us in the new band. he has been such an easy person to click with.

some updates about my stint application.... called up my ex-pastor at lighthouse this morning, found that he has already filled up the crusade form and will mail it by tmw. hopefully the mail will reach the HR ppl this week. if so, from an optimistic estimation, my interview could finally happen as early as next week. and once all these are done and over with, i can begin support-raising proper.
