Random thoughts, rants and reflections

Nathan East sure plays mean bass! Juz watched him at the Asian Civilization Museuem Auditorium. For the uninitiated, Nathan is a well-known bassist, having performed with the likes of Michael Jackson, Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and a host of other pop/jazz artistes. He is currently on a bass clinic tour, with Singapore one of his stops. There weren't any large crowd there in attendance, quite surprising given a bassist of his stature. No issue though with those present, including myself, as we lapped up every moment of Nate's performance. After performing a few songs, he went on to the Q&A session where he freely dispensed advice on how to improve as a bassist, as well as to share some 'secrets' to his bass playing greatness. I must say I walked away inspired... i'm still playing some of his bass licks in my head... i'm gonna get down to some serious bass practice (after exams at least... hehe). Yeah...and i have some pics taken with Nathan East himself... will post them once i get the pics.
